Why We Built This

We Met on a Postpartum Floor.
What We Found at Home Changed Everything.

Hi, we are Ashley and Veronica, the creators behind A&V Academy. We built this curriculum on real-world proof.

When we founded Latched Support back in 2017, we were both L&D nurses at a San Antonio hospital. Every day, we watched the same thing — mothers delivered, stabilized, discharged. And then completely alone.

So we started visiting them ourselves. What we found was not fine.

Mothers bleeding more than normal. Blood pressure spiking with zero awareness. Crisis situations the hospital system never caught — because no one with clinical training was present in those homes.

In 2023, our nonprofit Latched Support served 3,782 pregnant women in San Antonio. A survey of 6,000+ clients revealed over 50% had to choose between basic needs and diapers.

The training system we built for our field doulas — that is what you are enrolling in. This is not a certification we designed to sell. It is the exact framework we built because families' lives depended on it.

Does This Sound Familiar?

The bedside grind is real.
And you already know there's a way out.

You didn't go into healthcare to spend 80% of your shift charting. You went in to care for families — and the system keeps getting in the way.

I spend more time charting than actually caring for mothers.

These weekend certifications are a joke to hospital staff.
CNA considering career pivot
I want to walk into L&D and be treated like a peer — not an afterthought.
RN transitioning to doula work
I can't pay my mortgage on $500 a birth. I need a real practice.
Doula looking to grow
I went into healthcare to help people. Not to fight the system every shift.

Not former practitioners. Not online influencers. Active RNs, IBCLCs, and a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner — still in the field, still serving families.

The Bundle is $500 more than Clinical Only — and includes a full CEO Business Masterclass. The most common reason new doulas fail to get clients is not clinical skill. It's the absence of a practice structure. The bundle closes that gap.

Still Have Questions?

Honest answers to everything
nurses ask before enrolling.

It's a big investment.
Not an expense — a career pivot. One client at $1,500 recoups the entire $1,697 enrollment. Business Masterclass Module 6 teaches exactly how to price, collect a non-refundable deposit, and close your first client without feeling awkward about the price.
Will I actually get clients?
Module 10 teaches the complete B2B referral pipeline — walking into OB-GYN offices, pediatric practices, and lactation clinics to get direct referrals. More reliable than social media followers. And if you implement it and don't get a single consultation in 60 days — we refund everything.
Is this certification officially accredited?
There is no national governing body for doula certification — none. That is public record. That means reputation is your only real currency in a hospital setting. An OB doesn't care about a piece of paper. They care that you walked in knowing what DVT looks like. That's what we teach.
I work 12-hour shifts. I have no time.
100% self-paced with lifetime access. No deadlines, no cohort pressure, no expiration. Most nurses complete it over 6–12 weeks on their days off. The Thinkific mobile app works on any phone — watch a module in the parking lot before a shift if that's when you have 20 minutes.
What if doula work puts my nursing license at risk?
That is exactly why Business Masterclass Module 9 exists. LLC formation, IRS EIN setup, malpractice insurance through CM&F or Berxi ($95–$300/yr), and the exact contract clauses that create a legal shield. Doula work is non-clinical — you are not diagnosing or treating. When properly structured, the two roles do not legally conflict.
I'm not "woo-woo" enough to be a doula.
Good. The medical system doesn't need more woo-woo. It needs clinical advocates. A&V teaches evidence-based, trauma-informed protocols designed specifically for scientific minds. If you ever looked at a doula certification and thought "this isn't for me" — you were right about that one.
I can just learn this on YouTube.
YouTube doesn't teach you how to challenge a Pitocin protocol, write a liability contract, identify DVT during a home visit, or set up an LLC and business banking. Those are the skills that separate a certified doula from a practicing CEO.
What if I enroll and don't finish?
There is no deadline. No pressure. No expiration. You go at your pace — if life gets in the way for three months, the course is still there when you come back. And the First Client Guarantee clock doesn't start until you complete the program, so there's no rush.
